BINTM - Episode 7

Old McDonald had a farm.. E-I-E-I-O, and on that farm he had one cow, several stumbled lines and more arguments than a family a Christmas time. Oh wait, no, that wasn’t Old McDonald – that was just Week 7 of Britain and Irelands Next Top Model! My bad, but if you watched this week you will understand how I could get confused between the two as the girls were carted off to a farm for this week’s challenge of filming an advert for the Make Mine Milk campaign.

Nerves, memory loss and probably the overwhelming farm stench got to some of the girls as they tried to remember lines whilst dragging along a less than co-operative cow. Angel explained that she really wasn’t a ‘farm person’ and Holly was left feeling violated by her cow, but despite all this the girls powered on and when the milk moustaches had been wiped away it was Sophie who was crowned as the Dairy Queen and won the task.

Back at the house, everything was magical as the girls learnt their next photo shoot would have a fairytale theme. As with every fairytale though, it happiness couldn’t last and emotions erupted on set, of all places, between Angel and Holly. Both girls managed to get through their individual shoots without too much of hiccup, but both crumbled when the photographer called it a wrap and separately broke down in front of Elle, who seemed sympathetic at first but later called all the girls together to give them a stern telling off and reminded them that they cannot bring outside matters into work. I think the girls needed this from Elle as it was very unprofessional, but I think that the stress is probably getting to all the girls and they probably just need a good hug!

Once the girls had transformed back from Snow White, Cinderella and Goldilocks, Elle’s message seemed to have evaporated completely as Holly and Sarah let rip at one another. Sarah really surprised me here as it seemed like everything she had bottled up for the past 7 weeks was just released in one big red-headed whirlwind! Holly was yet again at the centre of another model brawl and I really have started to question whether it is her attitude that causes this, or is it just the stress of the competition?

After yet another uproar, the girls really needed to chill out. Clearly the BINTM Gods sensed this as they sent in Dannii Minogue to save the day... in PJs. Oh yes, the girls were treated to a pyjama party by Dannii in an attempt to reunite them all by having a little fun. It seemed to work... for now at least.

The fun couldn’t last forever though as elimination quickly approached and unfortunately for Emily, no amount of Rapunzel hair extensions was going to save her. Emily was one of my favourite girls, personality wise, in the competition thanks to her fun attitude and friendship with Laura, but for me she never looked comfortable in the tasks she was given and I think that’s why her performance always came out weaker than the other girls. Luckily for Naomi, who found herself in the bottom two for the first time, a Fairy Godmother in the form of Elle Macpherson came to her rescue and put her through to week 8 of the competition. Lauren won photo of the week yet again but will she go on to live happily ever after and become the winner of Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model? Or will one of the other girls steal her crown? We’re another week closer to finding out!
